~One of the best chiropractors I know always available and ready to serve.
~Awesome!!! My son had scoliosis about 2 years ago. So we started chiropractic treatment the same day. He had an X-ray about 2 weeks ago and it showed his spine was straight!! Just so thankful I caught it early and I will forever be grateful for Doc Matthews!!!!
~Dr. Matthews and his staff are all very professional and friendly. I really enjoy how they respect the time of their patience. God Bless!!
Q: How can a doctor of chiropractic help back pain?
It is important to remember that 90% of back injuries occur in the Lumbar (low back) region of the spine. This part of the back handles the strain of lifting heavy objects. Heavy lifting often results in problems with misaligned vertebrae. The "slipped vertebrae" often results in a nerve being irritated causing pain. The doctor of chiropractic realigns the spine so the pressure on the nerve is released, alleviating pain in a short time.
Q: How can chiropractic help more than just backs and bones, such as allergies and sinus?
The first things to be formed in an embryo within 6 weeks after conception are the brain and spinal cord. The spinal cord houses energy that is used like electricity throughout the body. By assisting the spinal cord to transmit nerve impulses properly, I help the body to heal itself. I also work with the patient to exercise properly and to eat properly and to eat a proper diet.
Q: What is subluxation?
Subluxation is the misalignment of the vertebrae, thereby causing nerve interference.
Q: What causes subluxations?
Bending, lifting, or anything that places strains on your back or neck area can cause subluxation. Tension is also a big cause of subluxations.
Q: What if I have already had surgery? Can I still receive chiropractic care?
Yes, most of the time, back surgery is to remove a degenerated disc. However, this does not get to the root of the problem. A good analogy would be when tires wear out on a car because the car is out of alignment. This is similar to the problem with your back. The misalignment still needs to be corrected and maintained.
